Immanent Fire

Alice M. I already wrote so many silly comparisons that I don’t have much to lose now:
This sometimes sounds like Emma Ruth Rundle making soft covers of Chelsea Wolfe tracks. But that’s probably just because I don’t know that many singer-songwriter.
TL; DR: Soothing as hell; don’t pay too much attention to the weird old-school-looking cover art. Favorite track: Entity.

I admire her voice, the lyrics, this dark, captivating music. I don't really like the other albums, they are too playful for me. This one and “They moved in s exceptional. Expressive. I listen to especially this one over and over again. Favorite track: Metamorphosis.
Dimitrios Kountouris

Dimitrios Kountouris Absolutely beautiful and inspiring. Favorite track: Infernal.
Eric Van Lustbader

Eric Van Lustbader A truly astonishing album, one of the best of 2019. Each song is a jewel unto itself, but when the LP is taken as a whole, an entirely new world opens up. Fantastic! Favorite track: Surrender.

Surrender 03:54
I felt the vines move within I felt my heart bleed again By not a stranger, by not a friend And with its words it pulled me in Out on the road, hailing to survive Held by something that never wanted me alive Shot the glimmer straight out of my eyes Flowers laid bare for when I’m ready to lie in surrender I watched it move from the ceiling to the floor Was it you or it I adored A hypnotism impossible to ignore The more I took, it took me more Out on the road, hailing to survive Held by something that never wanted me alive Shot the glimmer straight out of my eyes Flowers laid bare for when I’m ready to lie in surrender I held on to the reins Let go or be dragged in its name And I looked back at you, set fire, set ablaze And I walked down the streets for miles A gaunt face held in exile ‘Cause I was out on the road hailing to survive Held by something that never wanted me alive Shot the glimmer straight out of my eyes Flowers laid bare for when I’m ready to lie in surrender

Drowned 02:33
For many a year, this face of sullen tears Look down, you left her here In a room of sanguine mirrors It’s carved and it strays This path it deviates A walk, a dive, a wade Into waters of the darkest age But in a silent way, the hand it takes Circling around, the birth, the mouth It’s stolen and untrue, this mark in you And soon it will be found, left to drown For many a year, this face of sullen tears Look down, you left her here In a room of sanguine mirrors
3.
Infernal 05:44
A prick of rose’s thorn across the break, across the morn And I walk blindfolded into the wake, into the storm And please avert your eyes, the dust it falls, the dust it lies And in the fire’s claw incernate, they burned them all And in the bird’s eye view the fires bled, the fires grow And we walk blindfolded feeling no trace of all we knew And please avert your eyes from earthly cracks, earthly cries And in the final throw incernate beauty we know And she was a haven for me And she was a haven for thee And she, a holy vessel breathes And you sit and watch her bleed And you torched a hole in the sky And you watched your earnings fly And you sit there as she lies In blood right before our eyes And in the wake fires burn, fires take And at the wake ashes fall, ashes forsake And at the wake we will fall, we will ache And at the wake we’ll recall beauty’s face
4.
Washed Away 03:56
Modern industrial life Takes your soul in its fangs We might as well be all washed away If I don’t hang on tight, if I let myself stray I will lose my sight and I will be washed away And, oh, some days I walk my own Oh, my own pace It takes away the heartache It seems no one has their own eyes And we all speak from the cage Are we living in fright Consenting to be washed away I’ll lose my heart, my own eyes I’ll lose the smell of the rain As I walk, aimless in the night I will be washed away And, oh, some days I brush the palm Oh, of my hand Across the face of this forgotten land I left my print in the sand Organic mark made I got up and walked in the night And I refused to be washed away The burden of modern life The heart it beats and it prays Forever to walk in the night And never be washed away And, oh, some days I walk my own Oh, my own pace It takes away the heartache And oh some days, I brush the palm Oh, of my hand Across the face of this forgotten land

A septant year alive, not a drop in poison’s name I walk the streets alive, barely knowing my own name Metamorphosis, the cut, the wreck, the blade And in my own eyes, the light, the heat, the blaze ‘Cause there was blood on the view And we took it and we wrote anew Left in waiting for the marks to go away And all the entries of the dark messes were made ‘Cause there was blood on the view And we took it and we wrote anew Fabric of shame and sorrow’s name Reverse and retrace the tears on your face Fabric of shame and sorrow’s name Reverse and retrace the tears on your face You lived through, lived through, lived through
6.
Dew 03:24
I watched the wind make the roses bend Does X truly mark the end You say thorns scratch your face In blood and scar you can't erase Does time really grow anew Does poison drop the same as dew (in the morning) I held the wings of a dove As you held me like hand in glove Flickering light, the world it burns for you In holy fright as many try to save you You say thorns scratched your face In blood and scar you can not erase I guess that X truly marks the end I watched the wind make the roses bend I held the wings of a dove As you held me like hand in glove
7.
Shroud 04:04
I came out in a shroud Bathed in all the waste I’d seen And the rain rang loud With that old familiar sting The poison runs, the flame and the wick My heart burns in it The colors run, the sound of sick And we drown in it Keep my head above the ground Heaven knows I’m buried now Holy war came and gone Now they say it won’t be long The poison runs, the flame and the wick My heart burns in it The colors run, the sound of sick And we drown in it
8.
Entity 02:47
Billions of entities here alive Who do we uphold, who do we decry And who takes the throne and who the soil Who do we love and who do we spoil ‘Cause everyone’s got a mark Tell me how you wade in the dark And some have a helping hand And others are left barren in the wind Higher one, how do you abandon All of those with trauma’d religion Higher one, you promise to enlighten Except for those with trauma’d religion ‘Cause everyone’s got a mark Show me how you wade in the dark
9.
Light 03:17
One bell to ring as you wanted, eternally One bell to sing as you hunted, eternally And I will call on you forever And I will call on you forever And in the wind and the heart, eternally And in the swell of the lark, eternally Eternally And they will chime forever And they will chime forever
10.
I walked through the gates at the end You weren’t far, far from me then I would wait for you In blood, holy and true Cynical until it breaks, the words decay The voice it cuts, the voice betrays You can trace the lines broken hearts make Run your fingers through the cracks of eternal ache I walk through the gates at the end They’d been marked by the pens of forgotten women Pennyroyal we burn For every forgotten word And I cannot brace for the end A long road And I cannot brace for the end, the end
